Public Notice – Water Main Improvements
The City of Carlyle will be constructing improvements to the existing water distribution system. This project improves the water distribution system and will eliminate existing water mains that are susceptible to breaks.
Primary funding for this project will be provided by a low interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Public Water Supply Program (PWSLP). The PWSLP is funded by both state and federal sources. The $1,835,552.87 loan has an interest rate of 1.76% and will be repaid over 20 years. This project will increase pressure and flows within the existing distribution system, and provide adequate storage for use and fire flow protection.
