The City of Carlyle has contracted with Waste Management for Trash & Recycling collection. 
City of Carlyle Route Schedule:
• Trash pickup is on Monday
• Recycling pickup is every-other-week on Friday

Collection dates will only be delayed by one day due to a scheduled WM observed Holiday.

Automated Trash Collection
Automated trash collection is the City-wide adoption of rolling trash and recycling carts that can be emptied by specialized equipment that is both safer for residents and our community, as well as more efficient. We began this service in July of 2021 by delivering a 64-gallon trash and recycling cart to each residence at no cost. These containers took place of anything previously being used.
- Trash is picked up every Monday.
- Waste Management has provided each residence with 1-64 gallon trash cart.
- If enough trash is generated you may obtain a second cart at no additional charge.
- Any additional carts are available for $1 per month. Call WM to have that set up.
- Please place the cart in the proper spot for collection no more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup day.
- If you have questions regarding placement please contact WM or City Hall.
- Please place the cart, with the wheels of the cart towards the house, at the curb at least 3 feet from all objects, including your mailbox, car or trees.
- All items should be placed inside the WM cart. Loose items on the ground are not permitted.
- All containers are to be removed no later than 24 hours after the scheduled pickup day.

- You will receive a monthly charge for trash collection on your City utility bill.
Bulky Item Pickup Guidelines
- Each residence is allowed one free item per month on trash day.
- Appliances and electronics are not included.
- Weight limit is not to exceed 150 pounds.
- Bulky item pickup must be scheduled in advance by contacting WM.

Curbside Recycling
- Recycling will be picked up every-other-week on Fridays.
- Carts are to be set out for collection, no more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup day.
- Waste Management has provided each residence with 1-64 gallon recycling cart.
- Additional recycling carts are available for $3 per month. Call WM to have that set up.
- Please place the recycling cart in the same location you set the garbage cart for collection.
- Please place the cart, with the wheels of the cart towards the house, at the curb at least 3 feet from all objects, including your mailbox, car or trees.
- All carts are to be removed no later than 24 hours after the scheduled pickup day.
- All recyclables should be placed inside the WM cart. Loose recyclables on the ground are not permitted.
- You will receive a monthly charge for the recycling program on your City utility bill.
Yard Waste
Yard Waste can be picked up by notifying Waste Management. It must be prepared properly for pickup.
- If using bags, use Biodegradable PAPER yard waste bags ONLY (No Plastic Bags).
- Bundle limbs 4 inches or less in diameter with natural fiber TWINE (NO WIRE) into bundles up to 4 feet in length by 18″ in diameter.
- Yard waste has to have a tag attached. One tag for each bag or bundle.
- The yard waste tags are available for purchase at City Hall for $2 each
- Each item is not to weigh more than 60 pounds a piece.
- Yard waste with trash mixed in WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.
