Eagle Watch
Saturday, January 27, 2024 | 9:30 & 10:30 am
Case-Halstead Public Library, Carlyle, IL

As the winter chill sets in, witness the return of bald eagles to the Kaskaskia River watershed. These magnificent birds, known for their iconic appearance and soaring presence, migrate to our area during the colder months, creating a unique spectacle against the winter landscape.

Join us in celebrating the seasonal visitation of bald eagles as they grace our skies and waterways. USACE Park Rangers will be present at General Dean Suspension Bridge with spotting scopes in hopes to introduce participants to bald eagles, among other bird species, in their natural habitat. World Bird Sanctuary will be located at Case-Halstead Public Library presenting an ‘All About Eagles’ educational program complete with LIVE eagles. Program times will be 9:30 am and 10:30 am. Each presentation will be approximately 1 hour.

Discover the reasons behind their winter migration, learn about their behavior and habits, and marvel at the chance to observe these majestic creatures in action.

Whether you’re a seasoned birdwatcher or someone seeking a connection with nature, this winter event offers a remarkable opportunity to witness the beauty and resilience of bald eagles in their seasonal habitat.
