The Carlyle Farmers Market is back for the 2024 season!!
The Market is located at the Carlyle VFW and begins at 5 p.m. and ends at dusk.
The Market is held rain or shine, only being canceled if a serious thunderstorm is headed this way.

Be sure to join us for this Family Friendly event. We have vendors, games, live music, food and so much more. Plus this event allows car enthusiast to cruise over the Carlyle Lake Dam.
All types of classic vehicles will be there including: classic cars, stock cars, drag cars, and custom bikes.
–The 1st cruise will leave Carl’s Four Wheel Drive at 4:30 p.m. to Cruz to Carlyle Lake
–The main event will be held at Mariners Village from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Car Show, 50/50 Drawing, Fun Games, & Music.
–The 2nd cruise will drive across the Carlyle Lake Main Dam at 9:30 p.m.

Carlyle Boyscouts Troop 281 will be holding their annual electronics recycling drive at the Carlyle Jr. High School parking lot.
Items accepted include ANYTHING with a cord. For example, toasters, coffee pots, old computer modems, laptops, gaming systems, microwaves, flat screen tv’s, etc. They also accept remote controls, batteries, aluminum cans, leaf blowers, trimmers, Christmas lights, scrap metal, extension cords and much more.

In partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers and the City of Carlyle, MSE Racing is proud to bring to you the Carlyle Lake Triathlon. This event replaces the CAPEX Triathlon from prior years.
Experience an exciting rolling beach start for the beautiful Carlyle Lake swim, transitioning to a flat, scenic bike course over the planes of Illinois. The run takes you on rolling country roads to finish coming over the spillway at the end with a view of the largest man-made lake in Illinois. With multiple distance options to choose from, there is sure to be an event for every type and skill level of triathlete.
You’ll revel in the famously flat and fast roads of Carlyle, the view over the spillway of the dam, and much, much more!

The Haunted Trail is a delightfully spooky place to visit during the Halloween season!
Brave souls embark on a hayride from Dam West Boat Ramp to the Little Prairie Nature Trail, located on U.S. Army Corps grounds near the Lake Spillway, where your hike on the Haunted Trail will begin with ghosts, goblins and ghouls awaiting you.
Admission to the trail is $10 per person; all proceeds will go to support the Fireworks Spectacular.
Food trucks will be located at the Dam West Boat Ramp.
The Haunted Trail is supported by groups who volunteer their time to set up spooky spots along the Little Prairie Nature Trail and haunt the visitors as they pass through. If you are interested in volunteering on the trail contact Peggy Hilmes at 618-594-4354.
