The movie will be shown at the Carlyle City Park on the park hill and will begin at dusk.

In case of bad weather, the movie in the park could be cancelled.  
We will post it on our City Facebook page as soon as we know if the movie will be cancelled or not.

No purchases necessary, no need to live in town, and you don’t even need a library card.  Just stop by the front desk at CHPL and ask for the monthly selection! Then join us on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7p.m. for discussion and refreshments.

Clinton County Mud Run @ Clinton County Fairgrounds
Aug 26 @ 11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Join the Carlyle Jaycees for a fun day in the mud to support our local schools.

Sign up as a participant to run the obstacle course or come out as a spectator and cheer on the runners as they maneuver their way through 12 obstacles to the finish line. We will have a kids course for those that are 12 years of age and under and an adult course for those that are 13 years of age and older. This course is for all fitness levels as you complete it at your own pace. There will be music, food, beverages, photo ops, and much more!

Bring your dog to the Carlyle City Pool to enjoy Dog Days of Summer.
Tennis Ball*This event will have FREE ENTRY  
*Proof of vaccination required

This is a fundraiser for the Dog Park that will be built out at the Fish Hatchery. The Dog Park will be funded solely through donations and any donation is greatly appreciated. Any questions about the Dog Park please call City Hall at 594-2468.

The City-Wide Clean-up week has been scheduled for September 20th to September 23rd for residents within the city limits of Carlyle only.  A dumpster will be placed inside the fence at the Street & Alley Maintenance Shed, 1811 Washington Street.  Personnel will be at the gate to allow entrance with proof of City of Carlyle residency.  You must have proof of residency to gain entrance such as a City of Carlyle Utility bill, Illinois Power bill, cable bill, etc.

Yard waste, EMPTY AND DRY paint and oil cans with lids removed will be accepted.
We will not be accepting TIRES OF ANY SIZE or TELEVISIONS. 

The Street Department Crew will pick-up all heavy metal objects, such as refrigerators, freezers, etc.  If you have a heavy metal object that needs to be picked up then you will need to call City Hall at 594-2468 by September 18 to be put on the list for pick up.  All items to be picked up must be set out at the alley or street.

Hours items will be accepted at the Street Shed are as follows: 

September 20 – September 22 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
&
September 23 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Haunted Trail @ Little Prairie Nature Trail

The Haunted Trail is a delightfully spooky place to visit during the Halloween season! Cemetery Resized

Brave souls embark on a hayride from the Carlyle McDonald’s to the Little Prairie Nature Trail, located on U.S. Army Corps grounds near the Lake Spillway, where your hike on the Haunted Trail will begin with ghosts, goblins and ghouls awaiting you.

Admission to the trail is $6 per person; all proceeds will go to support the Fireworks Spectacular.

The Haunted Trail is supported by groups who volunteer their time to set up spooky spots along the Little Prairie Nature Trail and haunt the visitors as they pass through. If you are interested in volunteering on the trail contact Peggy Hilmes at 618-594-4354.
