Eagle Watch
Saturday, January 25, 2025 | 9 am – Noon
Case-Halstead Public Library, Carlyle, IL

As the winter chill sets in, witness the return of American bald eagles to the Kaskaskia River watershed. These magnificent birds, known for their iconic appearance and soaring presence, migrate to our area during the colder months, creating a unique spectacle against the winter landscape.

Discover the reasons behind their winter migration, learn about their behavior and habits, and marvel at the chance to observe these majestic creatures in action. Whether you’re a seasoned birdwatcher or someone seeking a connection with nature, this winter event offers a remarkable opportunity to witness the beauty and resilience of American bald eagles in their seasonal habitat.

LIVE BIRD PRESENTATIONS: World Bird Sanctuary will be located at Case-Halstead Public Library presenting an ‘All About Eagles’ educational program complete with live eagles. Program times will be 9:30 am and 10:30 am. While the programs are free, tickets are required to ensure a quality educational experience and to manage limited parking space.

Limit of 100 participants /per program

An eagle craft station will be available for children to enjoy, along with bald eagle identification sheets and detailed maps highlighting the current eagle nest locations around Carlyle Lake.
