Carlyle Lake to Host U.S. Army Reserve Expo

CARLYLE LAKE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Carlyle Lake Project in partnership with the U.S. Army Reserves and the City of Carlyle will host the U.S. Army Reserve Expo Saturday, 14 September 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Dam West Day Use area. The Expo will consist of a live humanitarian rescue training exercise and exhibits. This event is free to attend and will open to the public at noon.

The training exercise will show civilians trapped on Point 1 due to flooding. Reserve units will set up rescue operations, to include building a temporary bridge to evacuate those stranded and handling medical emergencies as they arise. Following the exercise, the public can explore the equipment used in the training exhibition and meet Soldiers from their local communities.

To accommodate for the event activities, the Dam West Boat Ramp will be closed Tuesday, 10 September 2019 at 10:00pm through Sunday, 15 September 2019 at 8:00pm. Visitors should use Allen Branch and Apache Boat Ramps located in Eldon Hazlet State Park or the Dam East Boat Ramp and Keyesport Boat Ramp which will be available to the general public during this period.
