BeeKeeping Certification Class

Andy Brethorst, will be at CHPL with a full day of detailed instruction for those who are serious about the art of Beekeeping.

Several area beekeepers, Don Perez, Ellen Guettersohn, Eleanor Shumacher, and Lonnie Langley, will be joining Andy to bring you all the information you need to start and maintain your own bee yard.  Equipment, purchasing bees, managing bees, disease prevention and treatment, and honey harvesting are just the highlights.

The $35 fee will get you the book, First Lessons in Beekeeping by Keith Deleplane, membership in Kaskaskia Country Beekeepers Club and the Illinois Beekeepers’ Association.  There is a $15 fee for the second person in the family to join these organizations, and for students.
